Excellent breakfast (yummy hasbrowns), free sample of homemade vanilla pudding during supper hours. Chicken gizzards & broaster chicken done very nicely/tasty.

When I see a restaurant not rightly credited for their Yelp reviews, I have to cry out. This is one of those times. $6.69 for 2 eggs, 2 strips of bacon, hash browns and four slices of toast. Coffee is not the greatest but add a lil creamer and sugar, you're fine. Goldie, our waitress was awesome. Very friendly, quick, and came around often. The Hungry Man ($10) is what I would normally order but I had a donut beforehand so I toned it down a notch. This is a great ma and pa joint if you are looking for a good breakfast place in Eau Claire. Right around $10 for a great morning experience. And remember, pay as you head out... Don't let the naysayers scare you away. My advice is stick with the breakfast and don't be scared of all the grey haired people around you. It's a friggin ma and pa restaurant in Eau Claire for goodness sake. I frequented this place when I went to college here so I stand by my review.

Typical diner and diner food. A good place to stop while traveling and looking for a local place to stop and eat.

With an hour to waste before my hotel check-in time, and an empty stomach I meandered over to this place. Upon arrival I was a bit shocked to find that I was the only non-geriatric patron in here. Aside from that bit of discomfort, this was a rather pleasurable meal. (Hmm, I'm not sure 'pleasurable' is the right word for a meal, but I'll stick with it). Though the steak wasn't what you'd find at a steakhouse, it was at least cooked properly and delivered promptly. The service was friendly and quick. Not a major 'hip' social scene for a college town, but a decent place to pick for some speedy 'non-fast-food' cuisine.

I was very surprised by Randy's. Yes it is a meca for the elderly but everyone is very friendly and service was excellent. Try the potato pancakes!!

A great place to eat for what it is. This is a down home midwestern comfort food family restaurant. They have fresh warm pudding available that is a big hit, but not for me. As another reviewer mentioned it's especially popular with the older crowd, but the food is flavorful just simple comfort food.

This place is awful. I can't believe I didn't get up and walk out. After a long road trip I stopped here to feed the family at a nice local joint. I like to support family owned restaurants. I was surprised to see I was the only patron without gray hair, anyways I still thought I would give it a try. The waiting staff were very pleasant and attentive to our needs but the food was lackluster. My wife's chicken tasted like fish I don't know how they managed to do that, it must be some secret process in the kitchen or maybe they haven't changed the fry oil in a long time. My fries were soggy and I tried to cover up the taste with ketchup but my ketchup was a watered down red liquid that wasn't not even fit for an inmate on death row. I asked for mayo to help my Nasty, dry perhaps even boiled cheeseburger to taste better and they gave me miracle whip. Maybe they thought a miracle would happen and I would like my food but it didn't work. However there was some divine intervention that night and it was that I didn't get food poisoning.

Nice honest food. Had turkey and dressing for dinner. While the food was nothing special, it was very good. Turkey was moist, and the dressing was flavorful. I came back for breakfast, and this too was honest and good. Eggs were fresh and the hash browns were cooked to perfection. Bacon was on the cool side but tasty. Inexpensive, honest food served with a smile. Very comfortable place.

This is probably your best option if you're passing through or looking for something other than fast food close to I-35. The warm vanilla pudding is definitely quirky and worth a spoonful. Servers are young (college students?) and super friendly. Dinner food was OK-- like another reviewer, I had the famous chicken dumpling soup and thought it was pretty good. Husband had a big chef salad with grilled chicken and the 'house' dressing, which he liked. If I were to go back I'd probably order breakfast for dinner-- saw some other people eating pancakes and eggs and that food looked good. Strawberry rhubarb pie tasted homemade and was pretty good-- should have asked to have it heated. One thing we did notice is that Randy's is a really quiet - esp. since we were there during their last hour of business for the day. Not a bad thing I suppose, but as out of towners, a little background noise might have made us feel a little more comfortable.

Free samples of homemade pudding greet you, along with friendly staff and a hearty, varied menu filled with healthy options. Try their new garden hashbrowns...so tasty! Finish off with a slice of homemade pie (or buy a whole pie to take home). We're sure to stop whenever we're in town and have always been impressed.

Obviously popular with locals given that people were standing in line. Some odd fare like gizzards (a big item here) and a gratis dish of pudding as an appetizer. Otherwise, the food seems typical, average diner food, good place for sandwiches and salads. The soup of the day? Chicken and dumpling with lots of gizzards in it! Apart from chains, however, there isn't much in Eau Claire, so be happy to find Randy's.
